Your day begins with a very early pick-up from your hotel in Aswan. We start early to avoid the midday heat and to allow for the most comfortable travel experience. Enjoy a refreshing welcome drink of Egyptian tea or fresh juice as we begin our scenic drive south through the Nubian desert.
Upon arrival at Abu Simbel, your guide will lead you to the two magnificent temples. You will marvel at the main temple of Ramses II, with its four colossal statues guarding the entrance. Inside, you will discover stunning reliefs depicting the pharaoh’s military victories. You will also visit the smaller temple dedicated to his favorite wife, Queen Nefertari, which is equally impressive in its beauty and detail.
After a day full of history and antiquity, we will begin our drive back to Aswan. Upon arrival, you will enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant before we drop you off at your hotel, filled with unforgettable memories of your journey.

This tour requires a very early morning departure from Aswan to make the most of the day and avoid the harshest desert heat.
Be sure to bring a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, and comfortable walking shoes. A camera is a must to capture the magnificent views.
Photography is generally allowed on the outside of the temples, but there may be restrictions or extra fees for photography inside. Your guide will advise you on the current rules.
Abu Simbel is a precious UNESCO World Heritage site. Please do not touch the ancient walls or reliefs to help preserve them for future generations.
A: The drive typically takes around 3 hours each way. We use a comfortable, private vehicle to ensure your journey is relaxing.
A: An early start (around 4 or 5 AM) is highly recommended. This allows you to arrive at the temples before the peak heat and the largest crowds, providing a more pleasant viewing experience.
A: Twice a year, on approximately February 22nd and October 22nd, the sun’s rays penetrate the main temple to illuminate the inner sanctuary. It’s a spectacular event, but the site is extremely crowded on these dates.
A: While you can visit without a guide, having an expert Egyptologist with you dramatically enhances the experience. They bring the history of the temples to life and can point out details you would otherwise miss.
