Your day begins with a pick-up from your hotel in Luxor. Enjoy the scenic views of the lush Nile Valley countryside as you travel north through quiet villages and farmlands in your comfortable, private car. Our first stop is the beautifully preserved Temple of Hathor at Dendera.
You will explore the main temple, known for its colorful ceilings, fascinating crypts, and the famous Dendera Zodiac carving (the original is in the Louvre). Your guide will explain the mythology of Hathor, the goddess of love, music, and joy.
We continue our journey through the peaceful countryside towards Abydos, one of Egypt’s most ancient and sacred sites, believed to be the burial place of the god Osiris. Here, you will discover the magnificent Temple of Seti I.
Explore the temple’s stunning raised reliefs, considered among the finest in Egyptian art, and see the famous Abydos King List – a vital record of pharaonic history. After immersing yourself in ancient wonders, you will enjoy a traditional and different Egyptian lunch with our family in our home before heading back to Luxor.

Be prepared for a significant amount of driving (approx. 2.5-3 hours to Dendera, then another 1.5-2 hours to Abydos, plus the return journey). The scenic drive through the countryside is part of the experience.
Both Dendera and Abydos are remarkably well-preserved. Dendera is particularly famous for its intact roof and vibrant ceiling colors, offering a glimpse of how these temples originally looked.
Photography is generally allowed inside the temples, but flash is strictly forbidden to protect the ancient colors. Specific rules can change, so always follow your guide’s instructions.
